Sri Lanka's 73rd Independence Day - 2021

ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ නිදහස් දිනය ලෙස ලිපාස්/ජොෂුවා ලුවී නීතියට අනුකූලව 1948 දී බ්‍රිතාන්‍ය පාලනයෙන් ලැබූ රටේ අභ්‍යන්තර දේශපාලන ස්වාධීනත්වය සැමරීමට හැකි අතර එය සිදුකරනු ලබන්නේ පෙබරවාරි හතරවනදා ය. එම දිනය ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ ජාතික නිවාඩු දිනයකි. ජාතික කොඩි එසවීමේ උත්සව, නැටුම්, පෙළපාළි හා විවිධ ක්‍රියාකාරකම් මගින් එය රට පුරා සමරනු ලැබේ.

බොහෝවිට ප්‍රධාන සැමරුම් උත්සවය කොළඹ දී පැවැත්වෙන අතර එහි දී ජනපතිවරයා විසින් ජාතික ධජය එසවීමත් නිදහස් දින කතාව පැවැත්වීමත් සිදු කෙරෙයි.. මෙය මූලික වශයෙන්ම අභයන්තර දේශපාලන තන්ත්‍රයේ නිදහසක් පමණක් වන අතර එම නිසා එය නාමික නිදහසක් ලෙසද හැදින්වේ.සැබෑ ලෙසම ශ්‍රි ලංකාව බ්‍රිතාන්‍ය කිරීටයෙන් නිදහස ලබන්නේ 1972 ජනරජ ව්‍යවස්ථාව ඇති කරගත්තායින් පසුවය.

National Day, also known as Independence Day, is a Sri Lankan national holiday celebrated annually on 4 February to commemorate the country’s political independence from British rule in 1948. It is celebrated all over the country through a flag-hoisting ceremony, dances, parades and performances. Usually, the main celebration takes place in Colombo, where the President raises the national flag and delivers a nationally televised speech.

Many national struggles were made in the history of Sri Lanka. And on the independence day all of these are remembered and celebrated. But the independence movement against the British is especially recalled.
