කිතුණු ජනයාගේ විශ්වාසය අනුව දෙවියන් වහන්සේ විසින් ලෝකය මවන ලදී. ඉන් අනතුරුව උන්වහන්සේ ස්ත්‍රිය හා පුරුෂයා මවන ලදී.

මේ ස්ත්‍රිය හා පුරුෂයා විසින් නිමක් නොවන පව් කල අතර මේ නොමග යමින් සිටින තමන්වහන්සේ විසින් මැවු මිනිසුන් යහමඟට ගනිමින් ඔවුන්ට පව් සමා කිරීමට අවස්ථාවක් දෙන අරමුණින් දෙවියන් වහන්සේ පුත්‍රයානන් වහන්සේගේ ස්වරූපයෙන් මිනිසුන් අතරට එන්නට තීරණය කරන ලදී.

ආදරයේ, සාමයේ අරුත ලෝකයට කියා දෙමින්, බෙදා හදා ගැනීම ගැන වූ අපූර්ව පාඩම මිනිසුන්ට කියා දෙන්න ආගමික දර්ශනයක් රැගෙන කන්‍යාවක් වු මරියා තුමියගේ නොඉදුල් ගැබින් දෙවියන්වහන්සේ පුත්‍රයානන් වහන්සේගේ ස්වරූපයෙන් ජේසුස් යන නමින් පීඩිත සමාජය නියෝජනය කරමින් දිලිදු ගවලෙනක් තුලදී උපත ලබන ලදී.

එම අසිරිමත් උපත සිදු වු දින නත්තල ලෙස ලෝපුරා වු කිතුණුවන් ‌මෙලෙස සමරනු ලබයි.
